LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION May 4, 2011 TO: Honorable Dan Branch, Chair, House Committee on Higher Education FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE:SB176 by Huffman (relating to student eligibility for tuition rebates offered by general academic teaching institutions.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill amends the eligibility requirements under Education Code Sec. 54.0065(a) for receiving a $1000 rebate of tuition by no longer counting dual-credit high school courses against the hour limitation.
