Under provisions of the bill, the name of Texas A&M University - Kingsville would be changed to Texas A&I University. Under provisions of the bill, any cost associated with the name change can only be paid for with money donated or granted to the University for that purpose.  Therefore, no fiscal impact to the State is anticipated.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2011. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
