Kolkhorst, Chair, House Committee on Public Health      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB193 by Nelson (Relating to the regulation of the practice of nursing.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The Bill would amend the Occupations Code relating to the regulation of the practice of nursing and repeal Section 301.355 of the Occupations Code relating to applicable policies to nurses employed by medical and dental units. Based on the analysis of the Texas Board of Nursing, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
