The bill would amend the Property Code to authorize a hospital or emergency medical services provider to file a lien with the county clerk. If a hospital or emergency medical services provider seeks to file a notice of lien with the county clerk, a written notice of the lien must be sent to the injured individual or the injured individual's legal representative by regular mail not later than the fifth day after the lien has been recorded in the county records as defined by the provisions of the bill. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
