The bill would amend sections of the Code of Criminal Procedure to authorize a county treasurer to collect money payable as defined by the provisions of the bill. The bill would amend the sections of the Local Government Code related to the requirements and procedures for county treasurers and county auditors. The bill also includes definitions for a depository, depository account, money, and treasury as related to the provisions of the bill. The bill would repeal Article 103.004(b) of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The bill would repeal Section 113.061(c), (d), (e), and (f); Section 113.062; and Section 113.066 of the Local Government Code. Local Government Impact There would be costs associated with the provisions of the bill, but the amounts would vary by county depending on procedures currently established and are not anticipated to be significant.
