Sales of such stamps generate approximately $6 million in revenue annually, and that revenue provides much needed funds for the construction, repair, maintenance, and replacement of fish hatcheries and for the purchase of sport fish for stocking public waters in Texas. ANALYSIS S.B. 390 repeals Section 43.809, Parks and Wildlife Code, which specifies that the provisions of law relating to freshwater fishing stamps expire on September 1, 2014. EFFECTIVE DATE On passage, or, if the bill does not receive the necessary vote, September 1, 2011.
