                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 12, 2011      TO: Honorable Allan Ritter, Chair, House Committee on Natural Resources      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB467 by Wentworth (Relating to the power of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to authorize certain injection wells that transect or terminate in the Edwards Aquifer.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would prohibit injection wells that transect or terminate in the Edwards Aquifer with some exceptions. The bill would provide different exceptions for the portion of the Edwards Aquifer that is outside of the boundaries of the Edwards Aquifer Authority than for the portion that is inside the authority's boundaries. Passage of the bill is not expected to result in additional workload to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
