The bill would prohibit injection wells that transect or terminate in the Edwards Aquifer with some exceptions. The bill would provide different exceptions for the portion of the Edwards Aquifer that is outside of the boundaries of the Edwards Aquifer Authority than for the portion that is inside the authority's boundaries. Passage of the bill is not expected to result in additional workload to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
