                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 18, 2011      TO: Honorable Jane Nelson, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB56 by Zaffirini (Relating to the inclusion and exclusion of certain information as part of the immunization registry.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill amends Health and Safety Code, Chapter 161 to allow individuals younger than 18 years of age to be included in the Texas immunization registry (ImmTrac) unless the individuals legally authorized representative requests the child to be excluded from the registry making the registry opt-out for this age group.   Currently, DSHS is required to verify consent for this age group before including immunization-related information in ImmTrac. It is assumed that any costs associated with modifications to the registry application to implement the bill changes could be absorbed within existing agency resources.
