                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 18, 2011      TO: Honorable Chris Harris, Chair, Senate Committee on Jurisprudence      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB587 by Uresti (Relating to jurisdiction in certain proceedings brought by the attorney general with respect to charitable trusts.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  This bill would amend the Property Code and expand the jurisdiction of a statutory probate court of Travis County to include concurrent jurisdiction in a proceeding brought by the Office of the Attorney General alleging breach of a fiduciary duty with respect to a charitable trust created by a will that has been admitted to probate. It is anticipated that any additional costs associated with implementation of the legislation could be absorbed within existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
