The bill amends the Labor Code relating to the right of employees who are victims of crime or who is the parent or guardian of a crime victim to take time off from work without a reduction in pay or use of existing leave to attend court proceedings related to the crime. The Texas Workforce Commission indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agencys existing resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2011.
