The bill would amend the Occupations Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure relating to the regulation of the practice of veterinary medicine. The bill would allow the Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners to issue a disciplinary order directing a veterinarian to participate in the peer assistance program. The bill would allow the board to contract with a board approved entity to conduct licensing examinations. Based on the analysis of the Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners, it is assumed that responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
