                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 25, 2011      TO: Honorable Eddie Lucio Jr., Chair, Senate Committee on International Relations & Trade      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB816 by Lucio (Relating to the appointment and recommendations of the Border Trade Advisory Committee.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend Section 201.114, Transportation Code, to add the port director of the Port of Brownsville or the port director's designee to the membership of the Border Trade Advisory Committee (BTAC). The bill would add maritime ports to the list of factors required to be considered in making recommendations regarding border trade transportation issues. Based on the analysis of the Texas Department of Transportation, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
