                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 21, 2011      TO: Honorable Jane Nelson, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB848 by Patrick (Relating to ambulatory surgical centers and to the provision of services at those centers by certain designated physician groups.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to ambulatory surgical centers and to the provision of services at those centers by certain designated physician groups.   Based on the analysis by the Texas Department of Insurance and the Department of State Health Services, it is assumed that all duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.   Additionally, it is assumed that all duties and responsibilities associated with the State Office of Risk Management implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.  Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to ambulatory surgical centers and to the provision of services at those centers by certain designated physician groups.
