                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 11, 2011      TO: Honorable John Whitmire, Chair, Senate Committee on Criminal Justice      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB880 by Whitmire (Relating to the operation of pretrial intervention and certain other programs by a community supervision and corrections department.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend Government Code, Section 76.011, to permit a community supervision and corrections department (CSCD) to operate programs related to pretrial, bail, occupational driver's licenses, and deep-lung breath analysis mechanisms. The bill would amend Government Code, Sections 76.015 (c), and 103.0211 to increase the upper limit on the administrative fee for CSCD programs from $40 to $60 per month. No significant fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.   Local Government Impact The Department of Criminal Justice and the Comptroller of Public Accounts report that a positive impact for local government is anticipated; however, revenue gains are not anticipated to be significant.
