                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 29, 2011      TO: Honorable Jeff Wentworth, Chair, Senate Committee on Open Government, Select      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB935 by Seliger (Relating to the method of delivery of certain notices sent by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would require the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to use electronic means of transmission for any notice issued by the agency to a state legislator, unless the legislator requested to receive notice by mail. Passage of the bill is not expected to have a significant fiscal impact on the TCEQ.  The agency expects that electronic transmission would lower paper and postage costs, but the reduction in costs is not expected to be significant.
