SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1129
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Colleen McHugh for her dedicated service as a member of
The University of Texas System Board of Regents; and
WHEREAS, Vice president for compliance and risk management
and privacy manager for the CHRISTUS Spohn Health System, Colleen
McHugh was appointed to the board in 2005 by Governor Rick Perry; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of her term on the board, she has
served with distinction as chair of the Health Affairs Committee
and as a member of the Academic Affairs Committee; she was
elected by her fellow board members to serve as chair of the board
in 2010, the first woman to hold the position; and
WHEREAS, She has also served the university as a member of
the board of The University of Texas Investment Management
Company; she is active in civic and professional affairs and has
served as president of the State Bar of Texas and as chair of the
Texas Public Safety Commission; and
WHEREAS, She is truly deserving of recognition for her many
contributions to her profession and her community, and it is
fitting that she be recognized for her work on The University of
Texas System Board of Regents; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, hereby commend Colleen McHugh on her exemplary
service on The University of Texas System Board of Regents and
extend to her best wishes for continued success in all her future
endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
