SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1199
WHEREAS, Many years ago, Hector and Maria Morales placed
great faith and trust in the future, and they have been amply
rewarded, as they are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary
this year; and
WHEREAS, Hector Agustin Morales and Maria Hilaria Saenz
were married June 24, 1961, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico;
their love has grown stronger over the last 50 years as together
they have experienced the joys and sorrows of everyday living; and
WHEREAS, They immigrated to the United States in 1967 in
search of a better life for their children and themselves; they
lived in Nashville, Tennessee, for a year; the couple fell in
love with Texas in 1968 and moved to San Antonio; they became
citizens on May 14, 1999, and they actively participate in
community activities and vote in every election, encouraging all
of their neighbors to vote as well; and
WHEREAS, They have been blessed with a wonderful family;
their children, Elida, Magdalena, and Hector Jr., and their
grandchildren, Melisa, Crystal, Ramon Jr., and Marissa, are a
source of much pride and joy; and
WHEREAS, Hector and Maria worked hard to provide for their
children and grandchildren; Maria worked for a clothing factory
and in the food service industry; Hector served in the military
reserve in Mexico and as a farm worker early in his life; he later
worked in the hotel service industry, for the Federal Reserve
Bank in San Antonio, and for the South San Antonio Independent
School District; they are both enjoying their retirement; and
WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Hector and Maria
Morales is truly an inspiration to all who know them; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, hereby congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Hector Agustin
Morales on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them
best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in
their lives.
