SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1200 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Robert L. Comeaux, who is retiring from the Texas Federation of Teachers after many years of service in the fields of labor and education; and WHEREAS, Mr. Comeaux is a field representative and a staff member of the Professional Educators Group of the Texas Federation of Teachers, where he has worked with diligence and professionalism to recruit members, resolve conflicts, and develop new leaders while communicating with members about issues of importance to the federation; and WHEREAS, Mr. Comeaux brought a long history of supporting working men and women to bear when he joined the Texas Federation of Teachers in 2004; from his days as a college student working in campaigns to successfully leading a strike for the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union to devising a strategic plan for a San Antonio school board election, he has had a profound impact on improving wages and conditions for workers; and WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, he has handled his many responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and dedication; he is respected and admired by his colleagues, and his presence at the Texas Federation of Teachers will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby commend Robert L. Comeaux on his exceptional service to the Texas Federation of Teachers and extend to him best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
