                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 139
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 join the citizens of Haltom City on the occasion of its 50th
 anniversary, which is being celebrated February 28, 2011; and
 WHEREAS, Situated in the northeast corner of Tarrant
 County, Haltom City is a vital and emerging part of the
 Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, the nation's fastest-growing
 metropolitan area; and
 WHEREAS, A family-friendly town of nearly 40,000
 residents, Haltom City offers the amenities of small-town living
 with easy access to world-class transportation networks and a
 wide array of such cultural and entertainment options as Fort
 Worth's Kimball Art Museum and Bass Performance Hall and
 professional sports teams like the Dallas Cowboys, Texas
 Rangers, and Dallas Mavericks; and
 WHEREAS, Blessed with a unique civic personality, Haltom
 City provides its citizens with state-of-the-art amenities,
 including the redeveloped Belknap corridor, a new library, the
 Central Fire Station, walking trails, thriving youth sports
 programs, and outstanding schools; and
 WHEREAS, For 50 years, the citizens of Haltom City have
 contributed to the economic and cultural development of this
 state, and they are justifiably proud of their history,
 traditions, and record of achievement; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
 Legislature, hereby extend to the citizens of Haltom City best
 wishes for a memorable 50th anniversary celebration; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
