SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 160
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize February 1, 2011, as Texas Organization of Residential
Care Homes Day in Texas; and
WHEREAS, The Texas Organization of Residential Care
Homes, known as TORCH, advocates for the rights of all assisted
living and residential care residents so that they may be
treated with the optimum degree of dignity, routinely receive
high-quality service, and be afforded the maximum level of
independence that their condition will allow; and
WHEREAS, The organization also provides education to the
assisted living industry, the legislature, state agencies, and
the public to underscore the value of Texas seniors and the
importance of upholding their rights; and
WHEREAS, The Texas Organization of Residential Care Homes
will continue to lead the assisted living community in Texas as
it cares for and protects residents that call their respective
communities home; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, hereby designate February 1, 2011, as Texas
Organization of Residential Care Homes Day; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the organization known as TORCH in honor of this special day.
