SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 337 In Memory of Nikolas Coltan Evans WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and commemorates the life of Nikolas Coltan Evans, who died April 5, 2009, at the age of 21; and WHEREAS, Nikolas Coltan Evans was born February 18, 1988, in Arlington; he grew up in Euless and was a graduate of Trinity High School, where he was a member of the cross country team; and WHEREAS, An enthusiastic admirer of film and cinema, Nikolas moved to Austin in 2006 to attend film school; he was passionate about every facet of filmmaking, and his efforts to learn the art and craft of this profession reflect his creative spirit and his desire to communicate with others in a meaningful way; and WHEREAS, Nikolas was a warm and loving young man, and even though he is no longer among us, he continues to live through the lives of the five fortunate persons who benefited from the donation of his organs; it is truly fitting that his innate generosity be reflected by the gift of life he gave to others through organ donation; and WHEREAS, A young man of courage, strength, and wisdom beyond his years, he gave unselfishly to others, and his compassion, his wit, and his enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and WHEREAS, He was a devoted son, brother, and grandson, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and his many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family and friends of Nikolas Coltan Evans; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Nikolas Coltan Evans.
