                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 355
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize Ebby Halliday on the joyous occasion of her 100th
 birthday, on March 9, 2011; and
 WHEREAS, A longtime Dallas resident, Ebby Halliday founded
 Ebby Halliday Realtors, a renowned residential real estate firm;
 she was the first woman to be designated Texas Realtor of the Year
 by the Texas Association of Realtors; and
 WHEREAS, A role model for women entrepreneurs, she was
 dedicated to her profession and was highly successful; she was
 inducted into the Texas Business Hall of Fame and the Texas
 Women's Hall of Fame; in 2005, as a tribute to her success, a
 beautiful yellow rose was named in her honor; it was
 internationally registered as "Ebby" and was presented to her on
 the occasion of her company's 60th anniversary; and
 WHEREAS, Ebby Halliday was also dedicated to her work as a
 homemaker and was married to the late Maurice Acers; she has been
 a leader in her community and is respected for her many
 accomplishments; and
 WHEREAS, Throughout her life, Ebby Halliday has been noted
 for her generosity, her independent spirit, and her enthusiasm
 for living each day to the fullest; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
 Legislature, hereby recognize Ebby Halliday as a treasured
 citizen of our state and extend to her congratulations on the
 occasion of her 100th birthday; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in her
 honor.
