                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 384
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize Jose F. Cardenas for his outstanding service as a
 member of the Texas Board of Professional Engineers; and
 WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at El Paso,
 Jose Cardenas is president of Moreno Cardenas, Incorporated, a
 consulting civil engineering firm in El Paso; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Cardenas is active in numerous professional
 and community organizations; he is a member of the board of
 directors of the El Paso Chapter of the American Society of Civil
 Engineers and is past president of the El Paso Chapter of the
 Texas Society of Professional Engineers, and he serves on the
 executive committee of the Borderland Mobility Coalition of El
 Paso; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Cardenas also remains active with his alma mater,
 serving as chair of the College of Engineering Advisory Board at
 The University of Texas at El Paso and sitting on the board of the
 university's Alumni Association; he is a founding member of the
 university's Alumni Academy of Civil Engineers; and
 WHEREAS, Jose Cardenas has served his profession and his
 community with honor and distinction, and it is truly fitting
 that he be recognized for his many achievements; now, therefore,
 be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
 Legislature, hereby commend Jose F. Cardenas for his many
 contributions to the profession of engineering and to his state
 and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his
 future endeavors; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
