                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 393
 In Memory
 of
 René Arcadio Rocha
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
 commemorates the life of René Arcadio Rocha, who died January 12,
 2011, at the age of 66; and
 WHEREAS, René Rocha was born October 25, 1944; he grew up
 in Brownsville, where he was a star athlete in the 1950s and
 1960s; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Rocha served the nation with honor and
 distinction in the United States Army, with two tours of duty in
 Korea during the Vietnam era; he went on to enjoy a long and
 productive career with the United States Postal Service, where he
 worked for nearly 30 years; and
 WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he
 gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued
 counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and
 WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and
 grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be cherished
 forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
 family of René Arcadio Rocha: his loving wife of 45 years, Nelda
 G. Rocha; his sons and daughter-in-law, Roberto and Pauline Rocha
 and Rene David Rocha; his daughter and son-in-law, Margot and
 Rolando Anaya; his mother, Josefa R. Rocha; his brother, Rogelio
 Rocha; his sisters, Julia Ybarra, Norma Rocha, and Graciela
 Rocha; and his 10 grandchildren and great-grandchild; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate,
 and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
 René Arcadio Rocha.
