SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 516
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
join the citizens of Grapevine in celebrating the grand opening
of the Legoland Discovery Center at the Grapevine Mills shopping
mall; and
WHEREAS, This $12 million indoor facility will feature an
all-around experience for children that will include a Miniland
model village, 4-D cinema, Lego-themed rides and attractions,
and master classes from the Lego Master Model Builders; and
WHEREAS, Legoland Discovery Center is the first attraction
of its kind in North Texas; it joins similar facilities in
Chicago, China, England, and Germany; and
WHEREAS, The Legoland Discovery Center has solicited the
input of area children regarding its various features and models
in order to better serve the public; this new facility will add to
the attractiveness of the Metroplex as a tourist and family
entertainment destination when it opens on March 30, 2011; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, hereby extend best wishes for a festive and
memorable grand opening of the Legoland Discovery Center in
Grapevine; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
honor of this special occasion.
