SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 533 In Memory of Louann Confer WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of Mabank in mourning the loss of Louann Confer, who died December 24, 2010, at the age of 57; and WHEREAS, Louann Confer was an exemplary citizen who was widely admired in the community for her many achievements and her outstanding service as city secretary of Mabank; and WHEREAS, A 1971 graduate of Mabank High School, she earned a bachelor's degree at The University of Texas and a master's degree from Texas A&M University; she became Mabank's city secretary in 1993, and her professionalism, her skill in determining funding solutions, and her attention to detail played a vital role in the efficiency of the city's governance; and WHEREAS, A woman of compassion, dignity, and strength, she gave unselfishly to others, and her generosity of spirit, her sense of fairness, and her enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten by those who knew her; and WHEREAS, She was devoted to her family, and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family and friends of Louann Confer; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Louann Confer.
