SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 586 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Elva Adams, who has been selected for induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame for her outstanding achievements in athletics; and WHEREAS, The San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame honors those women who have contributed significantly to the San Antonio community and the Bexar County region through their accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and WHEREAS, Elva is an expert in the Korean martial art of Taekwondo; she was a world champion in 1997 and an Asian Cup Champion in 1998; she also won an Olympic bronze medal representing Taiwan; she is currently a certified international referee; and WHEREAS, Elva teaches fitness, martial arts, and self-defense to working women, and she serves as the director of the China Dolls Dance Troupe; and WHEREAS, Elva Adams is highly respected for her dedication to her work, and her outstanding accomplishments as an athlete are an inspiration to women across our state; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby commend Elva Adams for her exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on her induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
