SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 590 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Nora W. Chavez, who has been selected for induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame for her outstanding work in the field of business and finance; and WHEREAS, The San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame honors those women who have contributed significantly to the San Antonio community and the Bexar County region through their accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and WHEREAS, Nora Chavez is the managing director and senior vice president of the Stifel Nicolaus Texas Public Finance Office; she served for seven years as the director of finance for the City of San Antonio; and WHEREAS, A civic leader in San Antonio for 26 years, she has served as an honorary chairperson of the March of Dimes, as a member of the development board of the University of the Incarnate Word, and as a member of the Mayor's Commission on the Status of Women; and WHEREAS, Nora Chavez is highly respected for her dedication to her work, and her many accomplishments in the field of business and finance are an inspiration to women across our state; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby commend Nora W. Chavez for her exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on her induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
