SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 722
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
join the citizens of San Benito in celebrating the dedication of
the San Benito Veterans War Memorial; and
WHEREAS, The soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines of the
United States military have made extraordinary sacrifices and
have shown tremendous courage in defending our nation's security
and democratic ideals in wars and peacekeeping missions around
the world; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the nation's history, they have placed
themselves in harm's way to guarantee the continuation of the
freedoms promised by the United States Constitution and the
Declaration of Independence; and
WHEREAS, The selfless devotion and patriotism of America's
veterans have left an indelible mark on the world, and it is truly
fitting that they be honored with this exceptional monument; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, hereby extend best wishes for a memorable
dedication ceremony for the San Benito Veterans War Memorial;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
honor of this special occasion.
