SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 863
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Becky Ames, mayor of Beaumont and executive director of
the Altria Collier Park Retirement Community, who has received
the 25th annual Athena Award from the Greater Beaumont Chamber of
Commerce; and
WHEREAS, The Athena Award is presented to an individual who
personifies the highest level of professional excellence and
reaches out to open the way for others to realize their own
potential; and
WHEREAS, As the recipient of the Athena Award, Mayor Ames
was cited as an accomplished manager and a respected colleague;
she is a successful executive, a tireless community leader, and a
gracious volunteer, and she truly embodies the spirit of this
prestigious award; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Ames is a vital member of the Beaumont
community, and her award from the Greater Beaumont Chamber of
Commerce is a reflection of her leadership and her commitment to
helping others succeed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, hereby commend Mayor Becky Ames for her many
contributions to the Beaumont community and extend to her
congratulations on receiving the Athena Award from the Greater
Beaumont Chamber of Commerce; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
