 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, William Patrick Barnett, Sr., is commemorating a
 significant milestone in his life on November 11, 2011, with the
 celebration of his 75th birthday; and
 WHEREAS, The son of Edward and Dorathea Barnett, William
 Barnett was born in New York City; he served his country as a member
 of the U.S. Marine Corps, and in 1961, he earned his bachelor of
 science degree in electrical engineering from Tri-State College in
 Angola, Indiana; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Barnett began his notable career soon after his
 graduation, joining M. W. Kellogg as an electrical analytical
 engineer; he went on to work with Door-Oliver before joining
 Dresser-Clark, today known as Dresser-Rand; and
 WHEREAS, Through the years, he contributed to the company in
 a number of significant positions, serving as sales engineer,
 general manager, executive vice president, vice president of
 marketing and client services, and director of business
 development; these responsibilities have taken him across the
 globe, with tenures in Singapore, Tokyo, Jakarta, and Mexico City
 as well as in New York City and Houston; and
 WHEREAS, This accomplished professional ended his career
 with Dresser-Rand in 2002, joining Exxon as a consultant; in all of
 his endeavors, he has been supported by his wife of 45 years, Mary;
 the couple have raised three sons, Christopher, Keith, and William,
 and today, they are doting grandparents of Alexa, Tyler, Paige, and
 Hannah; in addition to spending time with his loved ones, Mr.
 Barnett enjoys golf and reading; and
 WHEREAS, With the passage of another year, William Barnett
 may reflect with pride on his wide-ranging accomplishments as he
 continues to enrich the lives of all who are fortunate enough to
 know him; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby honor William Patrick
 Barnett, Sr., on his 75th birthday and extend to him sincere best
 wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Barnett as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
