 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Robert
 Ochoa Moon of Irving, who passed away on May 28, 2011, at the age of
 66; and
 WHEREAS, Born in Dallas on September 14, 1944, Bob Moon was
 the son of John Moon and Herminia Ochoa Moon; he graduated from
 N. R. Crozier Technical High School and served in the United States
 Navy, aboard the USS Cimarron and USS Valley Forge, from 1964 to
 1970, earning the National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam
 Service Medal; and
 WHEREAS, After completing his tours of duty, Mr. Moon worked
 for nearly two decades as a sales representative for apparel
 companies, traveling around Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and
 Louisiana in his motor home and making numerous friends among his
 clients; when the clothing manufacturing business began moving
 abroad, he opened a popular restaurant called the Burrito House in
 Seven Points with his sister, Hortensia; later, he became a top
 salesman for Toyota of Irving, and in 1999, he was licensed as a
 mortgage broker and banker and established Affirmative Mortgage
 Company, which grew to include three offices; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Moon helped revive the Irving Hispanic Chamber
 of Commerce and served a term as president during his several years
 on its board; moreover, he benefited his community in a number of
 leadership roles, serving on the boards of Housing and Human
 Services and the Irving YMCA and volunteering for other
 organizations as well; he had a large network of friends and strove
 to connect people who could help each other; and
 WHEREAS, Devoted to his loved ones, Mr. Moon was married to
 his wife, Rachel, for 33 years, and he was the proud father of
 daughters Rita, Rachelle, and Alexia; as the years went by, he
 welcomed six grandchildren into the family; he endeared himself to
 innumerable people with his wonderful sense of humor and funny
 stories, and he especially enjoyed sitting on the deck of his lake
 house in the morning with a cup of coffee, entertaining the
 neighbors who came to join him; ever attentive, he often advised
 "God gave us two ears and one mouth to listen more than talk"; he was
 an ardent fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers and liked
 golfing, fishing, hosting cookouts, and listening to Mexican music
 and golden oldies; and
 WHEREAS, Bob Moon possessed a generosity of spirit that
 expressed itself in myriad ways, and countless lives were forever
 enriched by his warmth and kindness; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
 of Robert Ochoa Moon and extend sincere sympathy to the members of
 his family: to his wife, Rachel T. Moon; to his daughters, Rita
 Nolan, Rachelle Watson, and Alexia Preston; to his grandchildren,
 Cassandra McCartney, Nicholas Nolan, James Watson II, Joseph
 Watson, Molly Watson, and Lauren Preston; to his sister, Nancy
 L. Behre; to his brother, John Moon, Jr.; and to his many other
 relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert
 Ochoa Moon.
