H.R. No. 260
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Wendell and Myra Shirley Crist of
Yantis celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 17, 2011;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Crist exchanged the vows of matrimony
in Yantis in 1961, and over the course of their marriage, they have
found in each other a loving life partner; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Crist count among their blessings a
fine family that includes their children, Wesley and his wife,
Deborah, Kelvin and his wife, Michelle, Nathan and his wife, Tina,
and Rodney and his wife, Debbie, as well as nine grandchildren and
nine great-grandchildren, with whom they share the many special
occasions of life; and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past
half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant
in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Wendell and
Myra Crist on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Crist as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
