 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Evelyn Walters of Kingwood passed away on June 28,
 2011, at the age of 70, leaving her circle of family and friends to
 cherish their many happy memories of time spent in her company; and
 WHEREAS, Born to Dovie and Watson Walters on January 23,
 1941, in Ace, Evelyn Walters was the youngest of six children; she
 grew up in Cleveland, Texas, and graduated from Cleveland High
 School in 1959; she subsequently lived in Houston before settling
 in Kingwood, where she raised her children and worked in new home
 sales for Friendswood Development Company; and
 WHEREAS, After some years away living in Santa Fe, New
 Mexico, and Durango, Colorado, Ms. Walters returned to Kingwood and
 became an active member of the community; she was there during
 Tropical Storm Allison in 2001 and spent countless hours helping
 her fellow residents recover; she also served as a caring volunteer
 for Family Time Crisis and Counseling Center, in particular its
 domestic violence shelter, The Door, and in 2002, she was
 recognized with the organization's Women of Achievement award; in
 addition, she belonged to the Kingwood Women's Club and worked to
 raise funds for a variety of local charities; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Walters enjoyed fellowship and services at
 Kingwood United Methodist Church and was a weekly participant in
 the Society of St. Stephen ministry; above all else, she was devoted
 to her loved ones, especially her six grandchildren, to whom she was
 known as "MiMi"; and
 WHEREAS, Evelyn Walters brightened the lives of all those who
 were fortunate enough to know her, and she will always be remembered
 with great admiration and affection; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
 Evelyn Walters and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her
 family: to her daughter, Tracy Moore, and her husband, Jim; to her
 son, Mark Massey, and his wife, Lisa; to her stepson, Chris Wood,
 and his wife, Moe; to her grandchildren, Courtney Moore, Connor
 Moore, Mackenzie Massey, Alexa Massey, Christian Massey, and Sarah
 Wood; to her sister, Faye Hawthorne, and her husband, Harvey; to her
 brother, Donald Walters, and his wife, Billie; to her
 sisters-in-law, Janice Walters and Ann Hefner; and to her other
 relatives and many friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Evelyn
 Walters.
