 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Jermaine Dewayne Wright of Sulphur Springs
 graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point on
 May 21, 2011; and
 WHEREAS, The son of Jerald and Margaret Wright, Jermaine
 Wright was a member of the Class of 2006 at Sulphur Springs High
 School; a member of the track team who contributed to the success of
 the 4x100 relay squad, he was also the vice president of the junior
 class and was recognized as a Texas Scholar and a distinguished
 graduate; and
 WHEREAS, At the U.S. Military Academy, this admirable young
 man was a regimental education officer and completed an internship
 at the Pentagon in the summer of 2010; he majored in systems
 engineering and was selected to speak at a conference in Tampa,
 Florida; in the summer of 2011, he will report for Airborne training
 at Fort Benning and will ultimately be stationed at Fort Gordon in
 Augusta, Georgia, joining the 35th Signal Brigade as a platoon
 leader; his career area of interest is the Acquisition Corps; and
 WHEREAS, Throughout his four years at West Point, Second
 Lieutenant Wright demonstrated an exemplary commitment to the
 pursuit of excellence, and with his graduation he joins an elite
 group of men and women who are exceptionally qualified to serve this
 country at the highest level; and
 WHEREAS, It has been said that the quality of a leader is
 reflected in the standards he sets for himself, and given the
 integrity, character, and honor with which Jermaine Wright has
 lived his life thus far, he will surely go on to inspire countless
 other young men and women to achieve their greatest potential; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Second Lieutenant Jermaine Dewayne
 Wright on his graduation from the United States Military Academy at
 West Point and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future;
 and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Lieutenant Wright as an expression of high regard by
 the Texas House of Representatives.
