H.R. No. 67 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, During the 82nd Legislative Session, Katherine Hinton-Rosenberg has ably served her fellow Texans as an intern in the office of State Representative Helen Giddings; and WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Hinton-Rosenberg contributed to the workings of state government firsthand; in addition to learning more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained valuable work experience in the field of public service, focusing on policy relating to energy, environmental regulation, education, health care, and transportation; she also supported Representative Giddings in her responsibilities with the Appropriations Committee and has drafted speeches, press releases, and newspaper opinion pieces; and WHEREAS, A graduate in sociology from Texas State University, Ms. Hinton-Rosenberg was employed for nearly nine years as a paralegal at an international law firm, earning its Staff Person of the Year award in 2009; in addition, she has volunteered with United Way, Safe Place, and the Austin Humane Society, and she has tutored elementary school students; she is currently pursuing a master's degree in public administration at Texas State University; and WHEREAS, This noteworthy Texan performed her duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Katherine Hinton-Rosenberg for her service as a legislative intern in the office of State Representative Helen Giddings and extend to her sincere best wishes for success in all her future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Hinton-Rosenberg as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
