H.R. No. 77
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Billie Ann and Kenneth Baker of
Midland celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on May 12, 2011;
and
WHEREAS, Kenneth Baker and the former Billie Ann Hill were
united in matrimony in Denton in 1946; through the years, they have
nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with
the addition of their children, Carol and Jerry Adams and Loretta
and Bill Baker, as well as five grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Valued residents of their community for more than
six decades, Mr. Baker is retired from Area Custom Home Builders and
Mrs. Baker is retired from IBM; and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past 65
years, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in
their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has
enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace
and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Billie Ann and
Kenneth Baker on their 65th wedding anniversary and extend to them
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Baker as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
