R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, L. G. and Willie Atchley of Midland
celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on May 29, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Atchley were united in matrimony in
Healdton, Oklahoma, in 1941; through the years, they have nurtured
a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the
addition of their children, Richard L. Atchley, Larry G. Atchley,
Peggy M. Nowell, and Barbara A. Tranum, as well as their
grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past
seven decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant
in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate L. G. and
Willie Atchley on their 70th wedding anniversary and extend to them
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Atchley as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
