SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 114
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the 5th Annual Weiser Air Park BBQ Cook-Off as a Texas
State Barbecue Championship competition; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding event benefits Reach Unlimited,
Incorporated, and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walk; it is
sponsored by Cypress Masonic Lodge 1423 and is sanctioned by the
Texas Gulf Coast BBQ Cookers Association; and
WHEREAS, Reach Unlimited, Incorporated, was created 26 years
ago as a means to encourage independence in young people with
special needs, and the organization has grown to include several
group homes and a Learning Activity Center; the Susan G. Komen
Race for the Cure has become one of the foremost initiatives
dedicated to promoting awareness of breast cancer and raising
funds to fight this disease; and
WHEREAS, The members of Cypress Masonic Lodge 1423 and Texas
Gulf Coast BBQ Cookers Association have invested great amounts of
time, talent, and energy to ensure the success of this special
WHEREAS,
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the Weiser
Air Park BBQ Cook-Off and extend best wishes to all who are
participating in this outstanding event; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
this special occasion as an expression of high regard from the
Texas Senate.
