SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 126 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Ruth Bloom Doss on the occasion of her retirement from the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts on June 30, 2011, after 31 years of state service; and WHEREAS, Ruth Doss began her career with the state on a part-time basis working at Southwest Texas State University while she completed requirements for bachelor of business administration degrees in management and computer information systems; and WHEREAS, Ruth Doss worked as a programmer apprentice for the Texas Railroad Commission before joining the comptroller's office as a programmer in 1984, and in 1987 she became supervisor of her group; over the years, she accepted many new assignments, including area manager for applications technical support in the Information Technology Division and area manager of Data Design and Analytics, and she excelled in every project; and WHEREAS, Throughout her career with the comptroller's office, she handled her many responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and dedication; she initiated many projects that greatly improved her departments and helped increase employee performance; she demonstrated excellent technical knowledge and outstanding customer service skills, and her presence in the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Ruth Bloom Doss for her many contributions to our state and extend to her best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
