                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 58
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize members of the Paige family on the joyful occasion of
 their annual family reunion; and
 WHEREAS, The Paige family traces its ancestry to Indian
 Charlie and his wife, Rose; Indian Charlie was the first known
 member of the family and counts as its patriarch; the couple had a
 son named Wesley; Wesley married Frances, and they had 11
 children, Martin Van, Bonnie C., Wesley Maxie, Ethel A., Roderick
 T., John C., James Millard, Susan Villie, Octavia Mae, Maudie J.,
 and Frances Lou Sullie; and
 WHEREAS, Family members held their first reunion in
 Postell, Arkansas, in 1982; they have been holding reunions for
 29 years, and some 150 to 250 family members will be traveling
 from across the nation for this year's reunion; and
 WHEREAS, Members of the Paige family are successful men and
 women who have contributed significantly to their communities
 through their leadership, their professional efforts, and their
 concern for others; and
 WHEREAS, They are exemplary citizens who have instilled in
 their children the virtues of reliability and hard work; their
 reunion is a manifestation of their pride in their heritage and
 their commitment to family unity; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend best wishes to
 members of the Paige family for a wonderful family reunion; and,
 be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as a
 memento of this special event.
