SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 76 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in recognizing Joyce Dooley Hallford on the occasion of her retirement as principal of elementary education at Rainbow Hills Baptist School in San Antonio; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Hallford felt her calling to become an educator more than 45 years ago, and she developed a passion for teaching children; her husband's employment was instrumental in bringing them to Texas, and the family joined Rainbow Hills Baptist Church in August of 1975; she soon established a Christian school under the ministry umbrella of the church; and WHEREAS, Rainbow Hills Baptist School began in September of 1976 with preschool children ages three and four; each year a grade was added, and the 21st high school senior class graduated in May of 2011; and WHEREAS, A true visionary, teacher, and leader, Mrs. Hallford puts great emphasis on relationship building and servant leadership; over the years, she has helped to develop more than 200 outstanding teachers and staff members while implementing excellent instructional programs; and WHEREAS, The students, faculty, and parents at Rainbow Hills Baptist Church have been fortunate to have Mrs. Hallford on the staff, and generations of children have benefited from her nurturing and guidance; to continue her legacy of Christian education, the Joyce Hallford Scholarship Endowment for Kingdom Education has been established; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Hallford has demonstrated exceptional commitment to children and their Christian education, and she will be deeply missed at the Rainbow Hills Baptist School; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
