SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 83
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Divas of God, Incorporated, which is hosting its annual
fundraising event on July 16, 2011, at Brady's Landing in
Houston; and
WHEREAS, Divas of God, Incorporated, is a nonprofit,
faith-based organization that carries out its ministry by
sponsoring fashion shows to benefit worthy causes; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding organization has made important
contributions to campaigns against the human immunodeficiency
virus and against obesity through its various activities; this
year's event, the Fashions for a Cause Fundraising Gala, will
feature a banquet luncheon, vendors, and door prizes in addition
to the latest in fashion; and
WHEREAS, Divas of God, Incorporated, is truly deserving of
recognition for its exceptional work in bringing people together
in a positive spirit to provide support and raise funds for
important causes that affect the health of the community; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Divas of God,
Incorporated, on its many contributions to the community and
extend best wishes for a successful Fashions for a Cause
Fundraising Gala; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
this exemplary organization as an expression of esteem from the
Texas Senate.
