SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 90
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Father Heliodoro Lucatero on the occasion of his
priestly silver jubilee; and
WHEREAS, The director of the Office of Worship for the
Archdiocese of San Antonio and pastor of Saint Michael the
Archangel Catholic Church, Father Lucatero was ordained into the
priesthood in 1986 after completing his theological studies in
Belgium; he later went on to earn a doctorate in liturgical
studies from the University of Notre Dame; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of his career in the priesthood,
Father Lucatero has ministered faithfully to the temporal and
spiritual needs of countless people; and
WHEREAS, A man of spiritual depth and devotion, this
beloved priest has offered workshops throughout the country on
such subjects as basic liturgical formation and the active
participation of the assembly; his seminar on The Roman Missal,
Third Edition, has helped pave the way for its implementation in
the United States this year; and
WHEREAS, Inspirational and dedicated to helping others,
Father Lucatero has authored three books and has served on
numerous committees and boards, including the advisory board of
the National Hispanic Institute of Liturgy and the Hispanic
Subcommittee of the Bishop's Committee of Divine Worship; he has
had a profound impact on the lives of many people and is truly
deserving of recognition as he achieves this important
milestone; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Father Heliodoro
Lucatero on his exceptional service to his church and his
community and extend to him best wishes for continued success in
all his future endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
