                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 92
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay
 tribute to Lula B. Jordan on the grand occasion of her 100th
 birthday; and
 WHEREAS, This gracious lady is well known for her charm and
 generosity of spirit, and she is a revered resident of Dallas;
 and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Jordan was born July 4, 1911, in Pleasant
 Hill, Louisiana; she moved to Dallas, where she married William
 McKinley Jordan in 1943, and together they raised his niece as
 their own child; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Jordan worked for many years as a housekeeper
 and was able to purchase a home with her earnings; after her
 retirement, she continued to be active in the community as an
 adoptive grandparent with the Salvation Army; and
 WHEREAS, A devout Christian who practices her faith in her
 daily life, Mrs. Jordan is a member of Israel Baptist Church,
 where she is the church queen and church mother and is an active
 member of the choir; and
 WHEREAS, Determined to continue her journey of
 self-improvement, she is studying to obtain her general
 educational development diploma; her robust constitution allows
 her to remain healthy and active; and
 WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of her community,
 Mrs. Jordan is noted for her courage, her compassion for others,
 and her enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend congratulations
 to Lula B. Jordan on the joyous occasion of her 100th birthday;
 and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 her as a memento of this milestone in her life.
