The bill would allow a school district to require a student to use an identification device that used radio frequency identification (RFI) or similar technology to identify the student, transmit information about the student, or track the student's location only if authorized by a resolution adopted by the board of trustees of the school district. The district would be required to provide an alternative method of identification for the student if the student's parent or guardian provided the school district with a timely written request to opt out.
