The bill would require the district school health advisory council (SHAC) to establish a subcommittee to consider issues related to student physical activity and fitness and make recommendations to improve student physical activity and fitness. The SHAC would be required to submit these recommendations to the board of trustees as a part of their annual written report. The bill would require SHACs to recommend joint use agreements or strategies for collaboration between the school district and community organizations, if feasible. Any joint use agreements between a school district and a community organization would be required to address liability issues. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. There would be some administrative costs for school districts to add to the annual SHAC report and to enter into joint use agreements with community organizations.
