                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 11, 2013      TO: Honorable Larry Phillips, Chair, House Committee On Transportation      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1210 by Craddick (Relating to the designation of a portion of State Highway 176 in Martin County as the Mark Owen Memorial Overpass.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would require the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to design, construct, and erect highway markers designating a segment of State Highway 176 as the Mark Owen Memorial Overpass, subject to Section 225.021 (c), Transportation Code.  Section 225.021 (c), Transportation Code, specifies that TxDOT is not required to design, construct, or erect the marker unless a grant or donation of funds is made to the department to cover the cost. Based on the information provided by TxDOT, it is assumed any duties associated with the implementation of the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.
