                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 1, 2013      TO: Honorable Jimmie Don Aycock, Chair, House Committee on Public Education      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1231 by Giddings (Relating to the application of the offenses of disrupting public school classes or transportation to persons younger than 12 years of age.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Education Code to exempt persons younger than 12 years of age from the offenses of disruption of classes and disruption of transportation.  These offenses are Class C misdemeanors. Under current law, only juveniles in the sixth grade or a lower grade level are exempt from these offenses. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
