The bill would amend Transportation Code, Section 550.065, to allow an authorized agent under contract with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) or a governmental entity to administer the release of motor vehicle accident record reports. The bill would authorize TxDOT to contract with a third-party agent to release motor vehicle accident reports. Based on the information provided by TxDOT, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
